Fitness HQ (The Predecessor to Comm-Fit) was established in December 1996 by Jeff Levitt and opened their first storefront in Dallas Texas. Jeff was previously the senior VP with Busybody Inc for 10 years, which at the time was the largest retail fitness equipment company in America with 50 stores in 5 states. The business expanded over the next few years and opened retail locations throughout the Dallas, Austin and San Antonio areas reaching 10 retail locations in the 3 cities.  Although the retail stores provided a basis for the company the focus was growing more and more towards the commercial side of the fitness equipment business. The company had grown to 10 stores by 2005 when an offer was made to sell the retail store division, but continue with the commercial side of the business, it was an easy decision. The commercial focused company now known as Comm-Fit was spun off in August 2005.

Comm-Fit’s major markets are:  Multi-family, Parks and Recreation, Corporate Fitness Centers, Colleges/Universities, Fire/Police Stations, Churches and Country Clubs
